Big day today. This is the public test of the IOM 1.15 Alpha! The alpha will be getting some updates along the way until we finally release 1.15.
Things to know:
1) There is no installer. You need to know how to install the mod manually. You can find out about how to do this on page one of the TWI Forum thread for IOM. Basically you're looking to put these files into your My Documents\My Games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame folder.
2) This manual install will NOT REPLACE your normal configs. This means you will need to add the line ForceLoadMods=SoundMutator as explained (somewhere) on the front page of the IOM thread (see above link). This is necessary! However, if you have already done it, you do not need to do it again - because as I said, it will not overwrite that config.
3) There will be bugs. If you find it unplayable for whatever reason - there is still the 1.14 Stable Release.
4) We especially want to test Combined Arms maps. I need to in particular because I have extended logging features enabled; if I crash, I get a lot more detail about it than those who don't have these features enabled.
This changelog is very short and does not cover nearly all the bug fixes, balance tweaks, and realism changes that were made over the course of development of this update. It aims to detail the larger changes.
Infantry:
-New Weapons: MP41 PzB39 (work in progress - textures are missing, there are plenty of bugs.) Shovels Various Grenades
-Rare weapons return on some maps where appropriate: G41w with 1.5x Scope MkB42H (to be replaced by StG44 when done) AVT40 MG42 PPS42 (i don't remember if this was in 1.14 or not, because i honestly have not played it for that long.)
-All Rifles (bolt + semi) can attach bayonets by pressing the 'alt firemode' key (default is 6.) Bayonets extend melee range and damage, but due to their extra weight and their frequency to 'rattle' when firing, they have an impact on sway and accuracy.
-Changes to a wide variety of features such as movement speed, suppression, etc... for example, movement speed is now less penalizing when running uphill in snow. Suppression does not kick around the screen as much. Suppression no longer desaturates the game into greyscale. And more!
-All Infantry uniforms have been adjusted. There are no longer Waffen SS or Splittertarn. There are a fair number of appropriate Infantry uniforms for Stalingrad battle. Some additional uniforms for late-war maps.
-Grenades and Artillery can now cause fragmentation, which can deal large levels of damage to exposed Infantry.
-Sniper Scope utility has been modified.
-Large number of animation fixes to previous IOM weapons.
Vehicles:
-Changes to optics system; vehicle weapons now fire from their barrel, and not the center of the screen. This affects where shots land at extremely close range. Many optics' appearance have been changed for greater realism.
-Changes to vehicle penetration and damage system (I don't know all the details here; this was something Dibbler did.)
-Sounds have been modified for existing tanks, and new ones added for T70 / Panzer III.
IOM 1.15 Alpha 2 now available. Same basic ideas as yesterday's version; manual install etc..

IOM 1.15 Alpha 3 now available. It will only be around for a few days and then Alpha 4 will be released.
I need to test Alpha 3 without custom infantry uniforms; they are disabled in the config. Please disable them on your server as well, if you are not overwriting the config; and also allow us to test Combined Arms maps. This shouldn't take too long, and then I'll push out Alpha 4 with a few extra additions (including support for a melee-only map designed by Nymets.)

-Axis Grenadier role now replaces Axis Standard Assault on most maps. This is to reduce the number of SMGs as they were less common in the Wehrmacht. Asymetrical Balance testing This is subject to change but let's test it for a while. -Grenade stats fully reworked for greater realism. Some bugs with grenades have been fixed. -Shovels, Pistols, Binoculars and Satchels no longer weigh down the soldier who first spawns with them. -Players now have more sprint stamina, allowing them to sprint for a longer period of time. Speed not modified since beginning of 1.15 Alpha. -All anti-tank weapons performances modified for greater realism (including tank shells). -HHL3 now sticks to tanks, and has a 4.5s timer. It is only available to be picked up on some maps; AT Soldier does not spawn with it. If anyone can suggest what maps it would (historically) be correct on, I am willing to implement it into the AT Soldier's loadout on those levels. -Fixed bug where Transport MGs point of aim was not working with Free Aim disabled. -All new 'sight / zoom' system (which fixes Sniper Scopes for the moment) when Zoom, ShiftZoom, and Free-Aim are disabled. It is much more like Red Orchestra 1 ironsights. -Variety of small bug fixes. -Temporarily disabled all Infantry skins in the config file, and also removed the M38's custom texture. Infantry skins will be re-enabled by default in Alpha 4 after testing. M38's texture may return at a later date. For now we need to test on Combined Arms maps online, with servers disabling custom skins. -Added in better animation for RGD33 and RG42 throwing.

Alpha 4 please let's test combined arms maps again - because I've disabled Halftracks and Universal Carriers on a suggestion from Dibbler.

Alpha 4 Additions: -Added in Gewehr 43 + Scoped Variant to late war stock-RO2 maps (not custom maps yet.) THIS IS WIP, known issues are: Normal / Specular maps are not finished, no sounds when reloading, sometimes the bolt doesn't close, there are a variety of missing icons, a few anims are missing. -Replaced PPS-42 with PPS-43 on late-war maps. PPS-42 may be used should appropriate levels be developed. THIS IS WIP, known issues are: Textures for new components are not finished, there are a variety of missing icons. -Added in RGD33 Pack for Soviet AT Soldier, as an option between it or the RPG40. Known issues are there are a variety of missing icons. -Adjusted some missing grenade stats. -Raised zoom levels of all Snipers. -(Temporarily) Removed all Transports. -Added in melee-only roles to Sparta map. Known issue: shovels have problematic 3rd person animations. Should be fully playable but some of the anims look wierd.
